Nakshatraya (नक्षत्रय) is designed with your privacy in mind. We do not sell your personal data. This policy explains the information involved when you use our website, mobile app and related Panchang services, and the choices available to you. Some features, permissions and service providers vary by device and platform.
1. Information we collect
Location
The Android Panchang app may request approximate or precise device location to calculate sunrise, sunset, Rahu Kalam, Gulika Kalam and other timings for your area. You can decline location access and enter a city manually. As described for the Android Panchang app, location used for these calculations is processed on your device and is not sent to us or third parties for that purpose.
Usage and crash information
The Android app may use Firebase Crashlytics and Analytics to receive crash reports and basic usage details, such as app version, device operating system and error information, so we can improve reliability. These services may process technical identifiers under their own policies.
Information you provide
If you email us, we receive the name, email address and message you send. If you choose to use a personalised service that requests details such as your name, birth date, birth time or birth place, those details are used to provide the guidance you request. Information typed into a form on this website is not submitted merely by typing it.
2. How we use information
- Calculate and display location-based Panchang timings and requested personalised guidance.
- Remember preferences such as language, theme and ayanamsa style locally in the Android app.
- Diagnose errors and improve the app using usage and crash information.
- Reply to messages and support requests you send us.
We do not use your information for advertising or sell it to data brokers.
3. Storage and retention
The Android app stores preferences and cached Panchang data locally using Android storage, including SharedPreferences and SQLite. Clearing app storage or uninstalling the app removes that local data. Emails you send us may be kept as long as necessary to answer your enquiry and maintain related correspondence. Third-party diagnostic data is subject to the relevant provider's retention practices.
4. Third-party services
The Android app may use Google Firebase for crash and usage reporting and Google Play Services for app delivery and updates. The iOS app may rely on Apple's app delivery services. These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We do not integrate advertising SDKs or data broker services in the Android Panchang app described here.

- Precise or approximate location: optional access for local Panchang calculations. You can enter a city instead.
- Internet: may be used for crash and usage reporting and other connected app features.
- Receive boot completed: may refresh home-screen widgets after a device restart.
6. Children's privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has shared personal information with us, please contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.
7. Your choices and rights
- Change or revoke location permission in your device settings at any time. On Android, open Settings, Apps, Nakshatraya, then Permissions.
- Enter a city manually instead of allowing location access where that option is available.
- Clear local app data or uninstall the app.
- Contact us to ask about, correct or request deletion of personal information we hold about you, subject to applicable law.
